    How much play time?

Just wondering how muh time everyone spends just playing with their Under 1 yo's.
I know sometimes I play just one on one with my 7 months old but often I amuse him with something and just pop in and out of his game.
How much REAL one-one time do you spend playing with your baby with no TV or phone calls, internet or housework?
I have been looking at the clock a bit today......I'll let you know. So far since he's been up since 7 with one nap it's been about 2 hours. The other time I have been with him but multi-tasking.

I'd say....7 hours? In an average 15 hour day for us, the other 8 is sleeping, bathing, eating, travelling etc and me multitasking or her playing on her own.

Probably an hour - one on one with DS 8 months - but he is my second, the number would have been higher for DD but not that much maybe 3 hours (not including reading). I make an effort to play with him, before or after feeds, nappy changing etc, and he is involved with games with DD where possible (not counting that in my hour).

Depends on definition of play I suppose a bit. E.g. He loves getting out and about and watching stuff from his stroller, or in a cafe, etc - I am not counting any of that as 'Play' but is all good for development.

Depends how many kids you have

I entertained DD1 a lot, sometimes too much I think. I thought that's what they need all the time. But since DD2 my ideas have changed and I take a more relaxed approach... DD2 entertains herself really well. They need chill time & time looking at the trees blowing in the wind, and watching a fly on their high hair, and just 'being'.

DD2 has her sister to play with now too
