How would you calculate the value of what you do?

I'm sick of feeling like what I do doesnt matter, or is of less worth simply because I don't have a job and don't make any money.
So, how would you (or have you?) calculate your $ value. Cleaning, cooking, laundry, dog walking, 'child care', grocery shopping etc etc. and what dollar value (per hour) would you assign to each one?

I would calculate your hourly rate to be somewhere between $20 - $30 per hour. I would also suggest penalty rates and you could even go higher if you wanted to include things like sick leave, holiday leave and superannuation. Ironically by being a SAHM we do financially disadvantage our future selves in terms of super.

You could literally apply a value based on real market values for a cleaner ($25/hr), nanny (no idea), dog walker, chef etc then calculate how many hours a week you do those jobs. Check job listings.

Or you could put a general value on your time according to how much you would want for any job if you were in paid work.
