The film is about an emotionally unstable country music star who attempts to resurrect her career.
Throughout the film it emerges that in the previous year, whilst on stage performing under the influence of alcohol, Kelly falls of stage while she is 5 months pregnant and the baby dies.
In the end, Kelly takes her own life.
After watching the movie I saw a much deeper meaning to it.
The fascade is that the music business itself impacted on Kelly and therefore the reason she took her own life. But the underlying message is that grief, if not dealt with properly, will beat you at your own game.
During the movie, Kelly's husband continually dismissed her attempts to talk about "Dallas" (the baby) and the loss etc.
I think its really important for all those connected to a pregnancy loss to deal with the grief that comes with it. So many of us in here know what its like to live with this grief and I think its important for us to support and educate people in ways of dealing with the grief - to provide them with the opportunity to talk about how their feeling if they want to.
I was so, so lucky to have some great supportive people (outside of my family) in my life who weren't uncomfortable about me talking about Reid, his birth, his death and his memory. These are the type of people who matter during times of grief.
I hope all of you feel you have people like that in your life. If not, I am always here to talk. Please never feel like your alone in this.
