So as the title says what is on the list for your LO's or yourselves for easter this year?
The girls this year are getting:
1 x Barbie Egg Pack - with 1 big egg & a lip gloss each
1 x Barbie coloring book each
1 x Easter stickers pack each
Hunt Eggs - 2 packs of the medium sized hollow eggs, 1 pack of Aldi little chicks & 1 pack of the little bunny shapes (you know the ones in the little bags) - these will probably be shared out with any other kids at camp.
DP - 1 x Humpty Dumpty (the original)
Me - i'm dropping hints for a lindt white choc bunny or any white choc for that matter.
The girls are also getting the new Barbie Mermaid Tale 2 DVD but it's for the trip up on good friday, i'm going to sneak it into the DVD player and watch their faces when they see what it is
Were also making our own fruit hot cross buns & some choc hot cross buns to share around for Easter morning breakfast
Surprising them with the dvd sounds great, they'll be so excited
DD is only 9.5 months at Easter this year, so no chocolate for her. I've got her bunny ears and a tail to wear but that's more for me to get a cute photo lol. I was going to get her a bunny or something, but she already has quite a few. So for this year, while she doesn't get it and won't remember we've just got the bunny ears and the rest of the family can spoil her rotten for us
ETA: I also attempted my own hot cross buns. Fail! I tripled the recipe so I could take them to the inlaws (bahaha, that autocorrects as flaws!) and my family. I was also baking two different biscuits for DH's smoko during the week. So I had a massive yeasty fruit ball and not enough time for it, and I've wound up with big odd shaped fruit balls with a very vague cross on top
Hehe I tried hot cross buns and they were a big fat fail too!
DD is getting a few eggs which I'll hide so she can find them, first year we've done it do should be fun for us all!
I've got her an easter activity/sticker book and am making her a bunny toy. I also made a little basket for her to collect her eggs in.
She's also getting a few toy dinosaurs..they did come in a pack with a big egg, but I think she'll have enough chocolate so have taken the big egg out and she can have just the dinosaurs instead.
For everyone else I'm making fabric baskets, lining with newspaper and shredded crepe paper and putting some large and small eggs on top.
I bought myself a little packet of Lindt eggs/bunnies, in case DF fails to get me anything (which will probably be the case!)
Normally it would just be eggs that come with a bowl, or cup or something like that, but as we are leaving to go overseas on Easter Monday, I am getting them some colouring books and things to keep them entertained on the flight.. (Have already told DD that the Easter Bunny is making an exception this year as her Pa might eat all the chocolate while we are gone)..
The girls are getting a plastic table and chairs (kiddie sized), a small cadbury bunny, size small eggs that the easter bunny leaves as a trail from their room to their presents, some pyjamas, and some small hunting eggs. I got an original humpty egg (so not easter without a humpty egg), plus we won an easter raffle, so have heaps of chocolate bunnies in the cupboard.
Easter has never been much about eggs for us given i have an allergy to one of the preservatives they overload easter eggs with - so we tend to do a present. although DD doesn't seem to have my sensitivities, so we will likely do some little eggs for a hunt, and have something spesh at the end (coloring book and pencils or something)
Elegant rabbit each and a few smaller eggs for a hunt this year.
In the past I have liked to get the ones that come with eggs cups. Have enough egg cups now, so have stopped that. Also used to buy a few more eggs/small chicks, but really they don't need much and we are cutting back on chocolate ourselves.
I can't eat chocolate at the moment so I'm miserable about Easter!! I think I will have boiled eggs on Easter morn and boil them in colored water for something special. I might buy dd a puzzle or something too.
We do an egg hunt using tiny eggs and every year my kids get winter PJ's. I might also get a colouring/activity book or some other small craft project for the holidays too.
Even though I'm a chocoholic I'm not getting any for myself lol! Determined to be good and no choc for me until I've lost the last few kilos!!!!!
my two older ones are getting 5 mini humpty dumpty's and 5 hollow cadbury eggs all for their easter hunt and a mini bunny each. That's it for us. I have majorily cut down as DD goes crazy with the smallest bit of chocolate. DD2 is only 3 months old so he isn't getting anything but I'll put a few eggs in front of him for the photo so he doesn't think he missed out when he's older and looks at the photos, LOL!!
I really like the DVD idea, we'll be doing a long car trip too, so might look into that.
But this year is the first year DD might actually understand a bit more about the meaning of Easter so I think we will stick with eggs and bunnies to make it about new life.
