Post Birth Pains...

Hi everyone,

I just have a question about post birth pains. What I am experiencing isn't the contraction pains from my uterus contracting - that lasted 3 days or so. It's higher, more across my stomach I get almost crippling pains when I move. The home visit nurse said it was probably just ligament damage (as to with the groin pain I've been experiencing, I am almost unable to walk).

Has anyone else had anything like this? What were you told it was? My son was born only 6 days ago.

is it from separation of the tummy muscles?

I had separation after DS1 was born and it wasn't painful at all, but I have heard from at least one other woman here on BB that their tummy muscle separation was quite painful ...

Have you been doing number 2's hun? At 6 days post birth I had crippling belly pains, turns out I was just reeeeeaaaallllyyy backed up!

I had pains something similar to this across my stomach in the first week of being home from the hospital with DS2. They were different to the post birth contractions I'd had. I ended up having MAJOR constipation too and after trying lots of things, prunes and prune juice fixed me up!
