Just wonderingg if anyone has any family or friends that are spending the snow season at Perisher or Thredbo this year instructing?
We go every years and my DD4 has hade lessons each year but they are so expensive I thought may e I could find an alternative
If the lift company finds any instructor giving lessons to anyone other than their family they will be fired on the spot.
Depending on how competent your DD is and how confident you are getting her on and off the lifts safely she could ski with you in the morning and have lessons in the afternoon instead of all day. Perisher has a lot of drag lifts (you can get round the entire resort using them) which I prefer for children because the worst that can happen is they fall over and need to ski back to the queue again. It can be a bit of a killer on the back having the bar behind your knees but you get used to it.

I know they can get fired, I thought I may have been fortunate enough to come across someone who would like som extra money who may not be doing a full season.
Oh well.
DD is 4 and has been on the 8 seater at Perisher last year, but that was with the instructor. Both Dh and I snowboard so we are just a little nearvous getting her off the lifts. If we skiied it would be easier for us to balance on both feet and lift her off, but with snowbaording it is much more unsteady.
I guess I could always tell the liftys when I get on to radio to the lifties at the top to help....I'm just not that confident in that though.
Dp and I board, dd1 (now 6) skis. She was confident at 4-5 to ski with us while we boarded and instructed her one in front for her to follow, one behind to watch out for her.
On the lifts the lifties helped put her on and we just waved at the top and they would help get her off as well. It was pretty easy.
Thanks Nai, that is comforting to know the lifties help.
I can't wait to go with her, she has been on skis since she was 18 months old and I will finally get to go with her this year. I could of last year but was just pg so I missed out.
DH boards and he never seems to have a problem getting the boys on the lifts although they can get themselves on most of them now.
If you go to Perisher this year and you want some company I'm down there every weekend and all of the ACT school holidays and probably a week of the NSW school holidays too. I'm child free on Sundays too
