Good Playgrounds in Bendigo / Ballarat

Hi guys

DP is going away for three and a half weeks and I'd like to make the time as enjoyable as possible for the kids while he's away and have a few little adventures. We've done the local playgrounds to death so I think it might be more of an adventure to go a bit further and make a day of it a few times per week.

We're in Woodend so it's about an hour to Bendigo and a bit further than that to Ballarat. The girls are used to long drives so that's not an issue.

Can you local gals recommend me some playgrounds. I just had a look at Bendigo and there's a 100 listed so I'd like to narrow that one down to the best ones.

There is an awesome playground at Lake Wendouree it is opposite the Botanical Gardens. Every week DD goes there with her grandparents for a play on the swings and to feed the swans and ducks on the lake.

On nice days we have often taken a picnic rug and had a picnic lunch there while DD has a run around on the grass (although heaps of families do this as well).

Yeah dd1 is at mum's place for a holiday and I'm picking her up tomorrow so mum suggested we pack a picnic lunch and go there seeing it will be a nice day. The girls love that playground.
