    What the heck is this?!

DH has something funny. It's on his chest, on the right side just below his shoulder. It's like a little worm thing just below the skin. He's quite buff so if he pulls his shoulders back and his skin pulls tight you can see it really clearly - a worm type thing in a sort of loop that doesn't quite join up (if that makes sense!!).

He only described it to me in a whisper after his shower as I was feeding DD to sleep so I suggested ring worm, but it's definitely not that, now that I've seen it. Silly boy started Googling and couldn't find it, then I made him stop when he typed in "under skin worms" in case he found something yucky.

He's already panicking and reckons he won't be able to sleep tonight so he's going to the Dr asap tomorrow. He's also worried it's messing with his immune system, he's had gastro and cold after cold whereas I've been perfectly fine.

So, are there any medical type people here, or anyone who's seen something like this before, who can maybe put his mind at ease? I don't mind anyone writing if it's something bad but I'm less likely to pass it on lol.

    no idea...
is it raised? what colour is it?

a few years back I had something that sounds simular...outside of my leg just was my thigh joins my knee... it was like a brown stain, and was think and a loop, like a worm. Was there so long ago I can't remember how long it lasted...but now the colour is gone and I have a scar there, still have no idea what it was....

so really, doesnt help, but is it simular to what he has?

Hmm not threadworm or hookworm. I think we might just have to wait and see what the Dr says. It actually feels muscular, it's quite firm and if it wasn't sticking out and such an odd shape you'd think it was just his muscle.

mine was slightly raised...but really thin... like someone drew with a pen, and then part of it was a ball... I don't know, I can't find anything on google. let us know what it is if he finds out!

Nope, not the same then Teirae, this is quite a bit thicker than that. I'm really curious about it now, but DH is getting more and more worried

Yeah, it is kind of like a varicose vein. Seems an odd spot though. Might not call the health line, DH has finally gotten over it by getting all worked up about The Voice lol, he can wait til tomorrow.

This morning, the thing is gone! No sign of it, which is odd because it was so clear last night. Unsure now if he should still go to the Dr, considering there's nothing to show now I don't know what they could do.

Did he work out yesterday? It sounds like a vein. If that's the case, it may come back, if it does, get it confirmed as a vein and hopefully he wont worry any more. The rest of the worms are intestinal worms (thread and hook worm) and ringworm isn't a worm at all but a fungal skin infection.

If it comes back, take a photo in case it goes again. The GP might be able to figure out what it might be then

I'm running with an alien implant theory here.

Seriously though that does sound very weird. Best to get it checked out, especially if he has travelled to any far flung places. There are all sorts of freaky parasites out there.

i was going to suggest vein ages ago...but thought, nah surely that wouldn't make him stress?

i agree with others, if it does come up again take a photo.

in saying all that I think Marydean has hit it on the head... he is so being tracked by the aliens! now they know where what he is doing and where he is!!!

Well that explains our crop circles...

He hasn't traveled anywhere, but where he works they have this yucky process water for cooling glass (they make bottles) and few weeks ago a pipe burst and he got it all over him. He got gastro from that, because even though they put chemicals in to kill bugs it's still full of nasties. So he's wondering if he got some kind of parasite from it now, and of course by disappearing he's worried it's just crawling around in there.

It could still be a vein, but it seemed kind of more muscular than that, and you couldn't see a colour or outline or anything. And yep, it would still freak him out lol.

Will definitely take a picture if it turns up again!

might be worth checking out anyway, esp. if he has been exposed to god knows what in that water.
