    blisters in throat

    Hi all,

Yes, i'll get to a dr asap but that won't be today.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the following:
Awful taste in mouth for a week now, but DH says i don't have bad breath
Sore throat started sat night and was awful, then a bit better yesterday. No cold symptoms.
Have multiple sore tastebuds in mouth (you know when they feel like they're going to fall off?)
Just discovered i have blisters all over the back of my throat. They are red, not white, but my tongue is quite white.

I also woke up with mastitis and hadn't had any blocked ducts or anything. Have had it 7 times now and was quite surprised to find I had it this morning. Interesting, it's radiating our from the nipple (not the usual wedge shape) so I wondered if DS has transmitted something to mevia his mouth. He did have a high temp a couple of weeks ago.

I am wondering if mastitis is related to throat blisters?

    Thanks for your help!

    Could you have oral thrush?

I did wonder that Olive. But i don't have the cottage-cheese-looking stuff inside my mouth. Just a whitish tongue. And the blisters are red, not white. But then I wondered if the mastitis was thrush-related?

Could be a really really bad bout of cold sores. My sister had them down her throat and mouth as a child. I get them in my nose.

A friend once also had just a really bad throat infection with blisters too.

Or it could be hand foot and mouth?

you dont have to have cottage cheese like stuff in your mouth to have oral thrush.

it sounds like oral thrush to me. the blisters you are describing sound like mouth ulcers. the white coated tongue is classic of oral thrush. you should be able to get some nystatin oral solution over the counter at your pharmacy

i should say that you dont get the cottage cheese in your mouth if you have oral thrush. you only get the cottage cheese with vaginal thrush

I had this exact same thing (the blisters not the mastitis) about 2 years ago. It turned out to be hand, foot and mouth which I caught of my best friends little boy.

I was in absolute agony!!! The only thing I felt helped was sucking on ice cubes and gurgling them to the back of my throat, I did it constantly and then it numbed it.

Get yourself to a doc asap and stay away from anything acidic - I learnt that the hard way!!!

I was going to suggest Hand Foot and Mouth as well. When DH got it off DD the doctor said in adults it usually starts in the throat.
