bub on cervix *TMI* pls don't judge

ok...It has taken me a while to get up the nerve to even post this. 1) because, well being a midwife I feel stupid asking questions when I explain stuff to women all the time, I guess it is different when its yourself. and 2) its kind of... well embarressing? it shouldn't be, but I feel it is a bit of a taboo topic and i'm hoping that you girls won't judge, or think negitivly about me or anything...

maybe I should put a warning in the title?

but ok, firstly a question. I'm currently 36 weeks, carrying low, but over the last few days I have felt a sharpness inside my vagina. I expect this is Spock moving down and even starting to put pressure on my cervix?? It's not painful, but I can deffinently feel something down there, like a heat I guess...it is sharp and becomes more intense when I also feel Spock kick. That would be Spock's head on my cervix right?

now for the ...unsure bit... it is actually at times pleasurable. and the last few nights I've been having...nice dreams. Might aswell just say wet dreams. Wet dreams aren't new to me, but normally only assossiated with actual sexy dreams, like making out with someone etc... But the last few nights I've been having them more than once a night, and randomly in my dreams. Like my dreams aren't sexy, infact just last night I was packing shelves or something and stopped mid pack of a can of something to have a ...well you know the wet bit.

I don't know where I'm really going with this. I guess just want to know if there has been anyone else who has experienced this... I've only ever heard of women who complain for sharp pain. this is far from pain, but it is sharp and intense.

Yup. I'll stand by you and admit that happened to me It was weird, that's for sure! It happened to me mostly at night when I lay in a certain position.

I'd rather that than some of the more annoying late pregnancy weirdness. Can't say it's happened to me, but I wouldn't worry about it too much

The pressure on the cervix (from what little I understand) would probably be Spock (sooo excited that you're so close!).

As for the dreams? I'm 29+4 and getting lots of them. Very sexy dreams. But, have no desire to DTD IRL, lol.

I've certainly had the sharp pains - feels like someone is stabbing me in the cervix - over the last few weeks off and on. Bubs is obviously moving position and sometimes its more painful than others. Can't say I've had the added fun you're experiencing with them though, although I remember with DD1 I had some particularly enjoyable dreams

I always associated the sharp pains with the cervix beginning to thin a bit. Have you read anything about orgasmic childbirth? You might be an awesome person to really engage with the concept

Climax... whats that?? Can I have one?

I haven't gotten that far in my pregnacy dreams, but have come close. I think the frustration woke me up each time.

is it going to get stronger? itms... because I'm pretty sure Spock is only just starting to bounce on it atm... what am I to expect when bub fully engages and is sitting on it all the time?

Michel Odent has written some interesting things on this topic, the most recent one I read being his book "the functions of the orgasm". He theorises that sexual pleasure during pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding is fairly common but not spoken about because of the social stigma of connection sexual pleasure with childbearing. I say enjoy it

see thats why I was hessitant to post it... because of the whole ...i'm getting off on my baby sort of thing smakes me feel unsure. I obviously want to embrace it though, like others have said, better than the alternative but it's still making me uneasy... like I have to make the conscious decision to go with it rather than avoid/ignore/fight it (like it is currently still an effort as such to give into it and enjoy it, rather than than feel ashamed)
