The power of Belly Belly...Put your hand up if....

You had potato bake/scalloped potato/tartiflette/ potato casserole as a result of another thread asking for recipes?

    Just wondering

Ooo I was sorely tempted. But it's a no-no in this house as hubby has chronic kidney failure and can't eat almost all of the ingredients. I could have made it for myself but I thought that would be unnecessarily cruel, as it was one of his faves.

We eat that quite a lot anyway, so I'm not sure if it was the thread or not that made me feel like it. That said, we don't have any money ATM and couldn't afford the ingredients. Ate at my Mum's instead

I seriously would have if I weren't losing weight right now! But I definitely have in the past when other recipes have been discussed!

contemplated it - but i have been cutting out all dairy at the moment due to food sensitivities and really don't want to add it all back in at once with the cream and cheese when i have to work tomorrow! was very tempted though!

I ended up cooking a cauliflower / broccoli creamy cheesy bake, same recipe base as the scalloped potatoes. Turned out soooooo good!

Nope, did however talk a friend through how to make it on the phone (he's baching it in Sydney while his wife is away & useless in the kitchen), his kids did appreciate Auntie Sopdet helping cook dinner that wasn't take away (even though his wife cooked a weeks worth of food for them & froze it WITH labels including how to reheat it etc).

There's a CHORIZO version? Yum!!! Hope DS doesn't get sick of potatoes too quickly! All I can taste is garlic at the moment, even after brushing my teeth

I did offer to make one... but she'd already done it.

So, I'll be making my 'tartiflette' tonorrow night

Not last night (way too tired after a weekend of parties so we had take away - cos the kids NEEDED more junk food!) but definitely on the menu for tonight. Yummmm. Loved the sound of Epacris' chorizo one so might have to do that for something different.
