Tell me it ends...4 month sleep regression!

DS2 is 4months plus a few weeks...and he has stopped sleeping for longer than 1.5 hours at a time. During the day it's an hour and overnight an hour and a half or 2 max. At night he often just needs a breastfeed to get back to sleep, which I recognize is my saving grace. He used to have a big block at the start of the night (bedtime around 6pm) 5-8 (waking between 11pm and 2am), then waking around 4-5 am and up for the day 7am or so. On average 2 wakeups, awesome. Now it's 5-6 wake ups and I'm really struggling. He's fully breastfed and in the 97th percentile for weight so definitely not underfed lol. his daytime sleeps have also turned to crap and he's just tired and grumpy all the time...

Please tell me it gets better...

(PS I'm sure DS1 did the same but I just need some HOPE)

(PPS Please don't recommend cosleeping, it's not for us )

I promise you, at some point in your sons life, he will start sleeping through the night. He will even start sleeping longer stretches.

It might not be for a while, but it will happen. You will get through.

For me, at 10 months my son has just started sleeping an 8 hour stretch overnight. It's complete bliss.

Hopefully it will happen for you soon.

Thanks FabFiona, I'm glad your DS is sleeping for you! I'm not sure if I'd last until 10month without being driven insane

The good news is yes it does end - even if it takes a while. The 4 month wonder week is an absolute doozy, DS's sleep went to absolute pot going from 1-2 wakeups to 5-6 wakeups (I don't know how far apart as I refuse to have a clock in the bedroom) per night as well as being as fussy as all heck throughout the day and catnapping if that. He's now a week or so shy of 6 months and is back to sleeping fairly well, usually only one feed overnight at around 2-3am and nice long day sleeps as well.

Hang in there it does get better!
