ummmm I *think* you can get a carer's allowance, ie be on PP instead of the carer's pension and then get the carer's allowance too. Have you had a look at the online estimator? you should be able to put in a couple of different scenario's play out.

Yeah I can get carers allowance for her- but i wondered if i would be better with Parenting partnered payment or Carers pension.
and if the bonuses, what they expect you to partake in etc on both

I recieve carers payment (single) & carers allowance. I can't tell you what the rate differences would be for you, but the allowance is another $114 a fortnight. You don't have to be on the payment to recieve the allowance (I accidentally ticked the box when applying for allowance). That is for a child under 16 though. Don't know myself if there's any difference with an adult.

I would check the online estimaters & see what you come up with also

It will depend on how much additional care mum requires as to which option you are better off with as yu may not qualify for carers (there is an allowance and a payment -you may as well apply for both)

As to the dollars you should run the estimator. There may not be a big difference in the maximum payments for each but the way your partners (or yours if you do any work) is treated is different. If you go on the website, select o line estimators, and then compare centrelink rates you will be able to get an idea of your entitlements.

I THINK carers is the better option BUT I don't work in that payment area so not sure. The estimator is your best bet
