    Uneven breast development.

DD is 10, give or take a week

Over the past few months her breast buds have started to develop and she has become a lot more hormonal (a whole other thread )

I have noticed her left breast/nipple/bud is developed more than the right. In fact, the right is still pretty much flat. Is this normal?

I really want to have a good look at it but I don't want to make her self conscious about it.

    Any insight greatly appreciated

    Completely normal.

DD thought she had breast cancer when this happened to her (just a slight over reaction ). And Auntie Sushee had a chat with her (and me!) and explained it was completely normal. Also spoke to DD's bestie's mum and her DD is the same.

I guess that's why one is always bigger than the other

Phew! I was a little worried because when she had severe chicken pox she got one under that nipple which became infected requiring ABs.

I have one boob bigger than the other so it figures

Keep an eye on it if it gets to be a concern then sure get it checked out especially if there is an issue. But it's fairly normal from everything I've been told.

Hopefully modesty won't kick in in the meantime

Oh I'm so relieved to hear someone else's miss 10 is "budding". Just bought some crop tops over here to make things a bit 'smoother' under her tops. But she still seems so young!! Poor DH was a bit weirded out when he noticed she was 'growing up'!!! Lol. Had to tell him it starts a good two years or do before the dreaded AF rears her head
they seem pretty even from what I've seen over here. But uneven makes sense cause even fully grown women have different sizes bosums

Uh. This has reminded me of something I've noticed with DD. she has a hard disc like thing (feels like when my boobs were budding) inside one nipple, and nothing inside the other. Been that way since birth. I'm even more weirded out reading that is normal...in 10 year olds :/

When DD was a baby she had that too. It went away as she got older.

Oh good! I was worried that one was missing, or one was extra lol, and that she might have trouble breastfeeding or something.

It's usually hormones, breastfeeding etc. Don't worry too much. Soon she'll end up as flat as a boy when she loses her baby chub And then she'll start all over again.

My DS had that when he was newborn...I was told it was my hormones in the breastmilk or something...it went away anyway eventually.

On the same note this has reminded me of when this was happening to me. Try and imagine the embarrassment of a 10ish year old going with her dad to a male doctor to have it investigated and then being told it was just breast development!!!!

Both DS and DD had breastbuds and DD even had breastmilk. Was a little weirded out at first!!
