Help - what can I use instead of an egg?

    Dinner tonight is being troublesome!!

Making meatballs for the slow cooker and it's just dawned on me that we have no eggs - and my shopping is being delivered between now and 5pm so I can't leave to get any! What can I use instead??

Was going to slow cook a leg of lamb....but it's too big for the cooker so DH needs to cut through the bone to make it fit. So that's now tomorrow! Gah!!!

I also never use egg or any binding agent for my meatballs. Let us know how it goes.

If you don't use egg, you need to knead the meat so it comes together well. You can also use a slice of bread that has been soaked in milk or cream, and then again knead it into the meat.

Mince that is kneaded well together will not fall apart. It only falls apart when it is like mince mixed up with stuff and shaped in balls. KWIM?

Shanti - I tried milk. Don't think it actually achieved anything lol.

Rouge - Where were you six odd hours ago Yes, I just mixed it all together and balled them up. Result was ala-meatball-fallapart.

I never use egg either. I put them on a plate covered with glad wrap and put them in the fridge for an hour, it firms them up and ive never had a problem.
