It's $800 for primary school and $400 for high school. Was in papers over the weekend so just google it.

You will only get it if you get Family Tax A is my understanding.

If you receive FT you will receive $400 for a primary school student and $800 for high school.

it still has to be formally announced in the budget and then pass through legislation

Can I be controversial and ask if you get FTB why do you need an extra payment???

Isn't FTB to help pay for the costs of raising children?

Eta: I don't mean anyone specifically!!! I am talking generally!!

Because they like to butter us up with cash payments so we will vote for them or to take the attention away from something that isn't so nice. YAY we all get a cash payment... Booo see how many welfare payments are going to get cut also?

Funny you write this, we were just having the same conversation!

I really don't understand these forms of payments, especially with the FTB etc in place.

That would be lovely, but not the case!

Isn't this payment to replace the educational tax rebate that you could claim each financial year...so it is money you may have already been getting you just don't have to keep receipts now
