It's $800 for primary school and $400 for high school. Was in papers over the weekend so just google it.
You will only get it if you get Family Tax A is my understanding.
mum was telling me the other day that i will get about $400 because i have a child in primary school. i have never heard of this. she was saying it will be paid next month? can anyone shed some light on this for me? i had a quick search of the centerlink online site but couldnt find anything. my DD is in prep this year. thanks

If you receive FT you will receive $400 for a primary school student and $800 for high school.

There is a link by me about this in the News and a current affair section of the forum.
thanks astrolady, i just found your link. interesting. sounds like it will be more simple if it goes ahead.
it still has to be formally announced in the budget and then pass through legislation
Can I be controversial and ask if you get FTB why do you need an extra payment???
Isn't FTB to help pay for the costs of raising children?
Eta: I don't mean anyone specifically!!! I am talking generally!!
Isn't this payment to replace the educational tax rebate that you could claim each financial year...so it is money you may have already been getting you just don't have to keep receipts now
