    Oral Thrush Advice

DD has oral thrush. At least I think she does, it looks just like it's described.

I've just quickly looked it up and read that you don't take an infant to the Dr for oral thrush unless she's had it more than two weeks. Is that right? Surely i should take her to the Dr? It started as one spot and now covers half her tongue. She doesn't seem to notice it and isn't seeming to be in any discomfort but I don't want it to start causing any problems.

Or, because she's 11 months old and not really a little bub anymore, does the just leave it advice not apply? And can it spread? I'll keep her home from daycare if she can give it to the other kids.

I would treat it ASAP.. It can be hard to get rid of. You can just get over the counter stuff from the chemist. Daktarin gel or nilstst.. Daktarin is better. You can also get a baby probiotic from the health food shop. You can either give it to her with her bottle or mix it in a paste and run on her tongue... Also you can use virgin coconut oil.. If you are BF treat yourself too. You can out the daktarin on your nipples and calendula ointment can help to prevent it.. You can still send her to daycare the other kids shouldn't catch it..

Thanks Blessed She's having cups of ebm at daycare so I can definitely give it to her that way. Good to know I can just get it from the chemist, that's so much easier!
