Glad you had an awesome day
I had a great day too. Didn't do much, just the way I like it!![]()
My mothers day was great this year. It started off with getting to have a sleep in. My kids wake earlier than the break of dawn...5.15am this morning. So I palmed DS2 off to DH, waved at DD as she sleepily rubbed her eyes and came out of her room and then I crawled back into my warm snuggly bed and slept for another glorious 3 1/2hours! Then, DH made me an awesome breaky of eggs Benedict with bacon on English muffins...yummo! It was so delicious! Then DD gave me her gorgeous hand drawn cards and drawings she's made me in anticipation of Mother's Day, and the beaded bracelet she made at pre school. DS1 and 2 gave me their hand made chockies and slice they made at day care. DH gave me two gifts, one a nifty little coffee machine I have wanted for ages! The other a beautiful teapot and cup set I wanted because I broke my other one I got from my mum a long time ago.
Then this afternoon, DS1 was snuggling into me, watching a movie and I realised he had fallen asleep on my lap. Naaawww...that's when I had a little teary moment looking at my beautiful family. Three perfect, healthy and happy babies. One wonderfully thoughtful, loving, loyal and tolerant hubby. My life rocks!
Did you have an awesome mothers day too?

Forgot to mention the purple chrisantemums (sp?) DD chose for me (because purple is my favourite colour!) and that DH is also making dinner!
That's lovely 3LM! Sounds like a great day.
Mine started out crummy but has been getting better... my sleep in was interrupted by DH getting a call out at 7.10amNo sleep in, no breakfast in bed, had to get the two kids ready for church myself... but DH got home and it got better. We had to go to church in the morning as our friend's DD was getting baptised so that was all a little crazy, but then we had a lovely lunch where DH ran around after the kids and I got to chill a bit. At home now, DS sleeping, DD resting on the couch and DH tells me he'll do my bacon and eggs that I missed this morning for dinner instead
Long as someone else cooks it, I don't care!
=) Yay for everyone having great days!
I got a text msg at midnight (as DH is at home and I am at my parents) saying 'happy mothers day'. Then I got a phone call at 730 this morning (crazy man thought I would be awake...*shakes head*) but he said happy mothers day, and said you are already a mummy your baby just isn't out yet. (awww) and then he goes, just think about how awesome next year will be when the little one will be wobbling in with your burnt toast and cold tea =) (awww x2). Then he goes, we are going to burn it on purpose cause that shows we really do love you (awww x3 and explosive overdose of the warm and fuzzies). I love my DH =)
That's so lovely I think I'm going to hurl, T

Sounds fab
Mine was pretty great. DD1 was at her dad's overnight so I slept in while DP got up with DD2 (at 5:30ish). Got up and got ready to go pick up DD1 who had made me a card. We then went to my parents where my dad and DP cooked us (my mum and me) breaky on the BBQ. Spent the morning hanging out with them. DP then took DD1 and DD2 to the park on his own (many 'are you sure?'s from me haha) so I had a nice long shower ALONE then just enjoyed some quiet time before they got back. DP and DD1 then made scones (my favourite) with lots of whipped cream and strawberry jam!
I was another that had a great day.
Got a sleep in until about 8.30am, when DD popped int o see if I was awake so she could me my presents.
Got a couple a bought presents and some homemade ones from Kinder & Creche from DD plus a lovely card with a personal message in it from DD.
DH then cooked us all breakfast - full cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, hashbrown and toast - yum!
We all then went out for lunch with my mum, sister & her DH, my brother and his fiance and my grandmother then went back to my mums for coffee and cake. After being so full of food, I crashed on the couch for a nana nap and have just hopped on to the PC.
DH is taking care of dinner and I'll have a shower soon and put my pjs on
My Dh has forgotten. I guess I can't blame him as he has been in Scotland for his Dad's funeral until late Friday night and he's exhausted poor thing. I'm not mad at him and I haven't said anything cause I know he'll feel awful and I don't want to make him feel bad but I kinda feel like I wanna cry a little, especially hearing about my friends days on fb etc.
Mine was better this year compared to last year's debacle!
I got to sleep in (after dd1 woke dd2 and made her cry) then dd1 made me pancakes for breakfast in bed. I got cards and a bookmark from dd2 and a pipe cleaner necklace that dd1 made. The girls also gave me new winter pj's and a funky shower cap, both of which I needed!
Then we drove to ballarat and had lunch with my mum and then went out to see all the activities for heritage week ther which was fun. So a nice day (if I ignore the girls fighting, dd2 spilling her dinner all over the floor and dd1 waking dd2 at 5:30am)
Oh Glenny. I'm so sorry your day was crappy-ful. At least hubby was home and not still in Scotland, I guess (trying to see the positives). Though I'm sure that's not really too much comfort. I hope you had some special moments with your little miss anyway.![]()
Great day! Started with a hot breakfast at home, then off to the city for Pancake Parlour for lunch (junky but I love it). Then we shopped at Melbourne Central for a bit, bought new cute undies, a few jumpers, some legwarmers and crop tops, all of which I needed/wanted. Now we're home, about to have dinner, then go to bed and watch catch up eps of TV while DD sleeps (hopefully!). Beautiful first Mother's day![]()
Mine wasn't too spectacular. DS didn't wake til 7:45am, did swimming lessons at 9am with DH in the pool with DS. Then had maccas breakky, did the groceries where DS turned feral. Home and then nap time for DS for 2 hours (bliss). Then over to my mum and dads for a lamb roast.
But the highlight of my day was when he said 'I love Mummy'. DH had been practicing with him all week.
*melt*
DS2 walked for the first time. My mum and dad were over and we were all talking and nearly missed it!
A very happy mothers day indeed.

I've had a fantastic but exhausting MD. I've been up unable to sleep since 2am, but my girls came and jumped on me in the lounge when they got up at 8am and piled me up with all the gorgeous cards, pictures and things they've made during the week for me at pre-primary and kindy. I was very spoilt because I also got a kindle, but it pales next to the photo frames made by my girls with pictures in them and "I love you' written all over them.
Went to the local for breakfast with friends and their kids which was lovely. Then drove an hour to MIL's because its her birthday as well as MD. Spent three hours or so there and got the great news that my SIL is 10 weeks pregnant after having a pretty rough run so lots for us to celebrate.
Then another hour drive home via my Mum's to visit her.
Just finishing dinner and will then be needing to get two very overtired, overstimulated girls into the bath and then bed.
So, exhausting day but so lovely.
This year, today was the first time a real effort has been made for me. And I really appreciated it. Dh went out and bought me a pressie earlier in the week, normally he goes down on the day and gets me something. He made brekky, the girls made the wrapping paper and card. Dh went to work like normal, just a bit earlier thanks to all teh lucky mum, grandmas, and aunty's that were lucky enough to eat the food DH made them.
I took the girls marketting before coming home and warming our toes in front of the fire.![]()
It is really lovely to hear that so many of us were treated like princesses for a day and appreciated and spoilt!
