How long does it take for herbal medicines to take effect?

I just started taking a product called "Stress AWAY". It's a herbal supplement designed to increase energy and reduce stress and related symptoms.
How long should it take to work? I took the first one last night and woke up this morning, feeling 10 times better and hungry (! I am never hungry in the morning).

Is this just a placebo effect or is it working already?
I thought it took a few days for this kind of thing to start working?

The naturopath that I spoke to at the chemist told me that what I described are all symptoms of chronic fatigue and if the Stress AWAY works (or doesn't work??? I've forgotten already ) then I should go to the doctor and get them to check for it. Does this sound right? Our has he just given me false hope of getting a diagnosis on why I feel so crappy all the time?

I can list my symptoms if need be but it's a long list and I'm on my phone so would rather not if it's a waste of time.

I imagine a supplement for stress contains 5-HTP? Otherwise known as 5-hydroxy-tryptophan. Does it have that? That usually has the effect your talking about within 24 hours, and can work as quickly as 10 mins!

You should get a copy of The Mood Cure

The nutrient your body uses to make serotonin. You can make 5-htp yourself but for numerous reasons you may not be making enough and therefore be low in serotonin.

The packaging only tells me the active ingredients. It doesn't list 5-HTP...

I would think it would be an active ingredient. In any case it probably has something similar in there that is boosting your serotonin as that can be a quick fix. I'm glad it's helping.
