Paid Parental Leave - Income for the tax year?

    Hi,

Can someone please clarify if PPL is classed as income? I am trying to estimate what my income will be for next financial year so I can figure out if I am better of with PPL or the baby bonus. Someone told me that PPL is classified as income, whereas I thought any benefits from FA and the likes is not considered as income per se....?

Ppl is classed as income and that is why u get taxed on it - the baby bonus isn't taxed and therefore isn't classed as income.

    bugger
change it now - it will mean you'll get short paid for the next few weeks but will reduce any potential debt at tax time
