4 year old boy - what presents?

Ok my SIL makes it so difficult to buy for our nephew, God love her. She tends to hide his presents away in a cupboard if they just another toy, IYKWIM.
So I need something that you don't just buy in the toy aisle at Kmart/Target/Big W. I can't get him books because he has so many books they have run out of places to put them all so they are getting put away too - AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!

I'm so suck for ideas. I got him a scooter for Christmas.

    HELP!!!!!

    TIA,
    a very desperate aunty, LOL!!!

Something for his wall? I know a fantastic site where she makes paper art and frames it, have bought a few things from her. There are lot and lots of options from tractors to surfboards!

Lego or some other sort of construction thing?? (I've seen magnet type construction things that are cool). A marble run (kids love these). Does he like cooking? I've seen cool kids masterchef kit things. Or tickets to some sort of entertainment place or park??? Ummmmm trying to think of what else lol. I rekon finding an 'educational toys' shop could be the way to go.

A torch (proper torch not a toy one) or a reading light.
If you want a toy the bilibo is tops.

I second the game, DS has a toy story game called Buzz to the rescue. It says 2-4 players, but can easily be played alone. It's 3+ on the box and he loves it! Think I found it at Mr Toys just before Christmas.

A torch is a good idea but I would go with a wind up one as a 4yo will tend to leave it on and run the batteries out!

Bubble bath, water toys, electric toothbrush, funky beanie with scarf and gloves to match, gumboots, raincoat, umbrella. Voucher for a trip to the movies with popcorn included that you take him on.

    Drums
    trumpet
    kite
    costume
    Paints
    paper maiche kit

It is an auntie's role to buy loud, annoying presents. For educational purposes, of course

    Pillow pets are great!
My DS1 is addicted to lego, that's always a great present!
Do they go camping at all?? My DS got this great kids camping chair in the shape of a koala, i think you can get kangaroos and platypus as well

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!! I love the idea of a board game/pillow pet/lego. Guess I'll just have to have a potter around.
