    I could smell her

    So I'm lying in bed waiting for both DDs to fall asleep when I notice the smell of perfume. I don't wear perfume (especially not to bed) and my pyjamas were freshly washed. Then I realised it smelled like mum's perfume. Only it wasn't just her perfume. It was mixed in with her makeup, her shampoo, the fabulon she used when ironing. I spent 5-10 minutes breathing in her scent. It was like getting a big hug from her.

    Oh and today is my 30th birthday.

    It was around 2am when I smelled her but I was born at 5pm, so not sure if the timing is significant. I've never experienced anything like this before, not with such certainty.

    I had a similar thing happen a few years ago. My Dad died in 2008, DH and I were in Italy in 2009 on holiday and I woke up in the middle of the night and could smell him, plain as day. I kept on sniffing round stuff to see where it was coming from in case it was some kind of weird coincidence but nothing and I could still smell his aftershave.

    I think your Mum is definitely there, wishing you a happy birthday - that is so neat , hope you had a great day
