Anyone put their bubs to sleep on their tummy?
We've been seeing a chiro who has cured my 12 week old DS of reflux, and he was saying that he doesn't agree with babies sleeping on their backs as its not 'natural' to sleep in that position and how most adults can't sleep on their backs. He suggested it could be why bubs doesn't sleep long during the day as he seems to have wind pain when on his back.
I know the SIDS recommendations, so please don't shoot me, but I'm just wondering if anyone else puts a young bub on their stomach to sleep and how it goes?
Oh, and DS has been rolling front to back for about 4 weeks so he's very strong in the head and neck.
Yep, I put DS to sleep on his tummy, but that's through the day and I can always see him. At night we co sleep so he is usually on his side.. Sometimes he ends up on his tummy anyway. He can roll from tummy to back and lift his neck and head right up..
I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel if DS slept away from me though..
He sleeps well on his back at night for some reason so I would continue to put him on his back in the bassinet next to our bed. The bassinet is in the lounge room during the day so I would def be able to keep an eye on him.
DS 4 months sleeps on his belly during the day when I'm around. He sleeps on his back at night. Glad I'm not the only one- thought I was the worst mum in the world!
We started tummy sleeping for day sleeps at 4 months. Night sleeps at about 10 months and oh.my.god. did it change our lives. We have barely had a bad night since. I was too freaked out to do it any earlier.
