I haven't yet, but I've hired one to use during labour. It's only costing me $18 a week so I'm happy to trial it for relief at that price. Fingers crossed it works!
I used one for my second and third labors. It was fantastic for the second one, but I hated it for the third. It just wasn't helping. Not sure why? Both labors were posterior. But I felt like the third labour was much harder, maybe that's why.
But worth having I believe. If you don't like it you can always take it off. :-)
Will let you know in a couple of weeks I've hired a special labour one for when I have bubs but have used the normal TENS machine before. It is the same thing really just, I find quite fiddly with adjusting all the dials and I didn't want to have to deal with that during labour. I used it last year when I had a natural miscarriage. I know labour pain will be much more painful but I found it helped me for the contraction like cramps I had during the miscarriage.
Like someone suggested, I kind of figure if I don't like it I can take it off.
I used one with my last labour. I couldn't recommend one enough!!!! Wish I had of tried them with my previous labours. A couple of times I though that it wasn't really doing anything, so I turned it off "OMG" I then realised how much it actually was doing. Mine was just a cheap ($25) unit I bought off ebay. My only advice is to have a play with it beforehand, so you have an idea what it will feel like and how to control it properly, because it isn't something you want to learn in the moment.
I used one and I seriously loved it. I used it for 2.5 days of prelabour and approx 6 hours active labour. It was all I used and all I needed
Also, dh and his brothers thought it was the best thing ever afterwards. They had competitions to see who could keep it on their fingertips at the highest level for the longest time *eyeroll*
I was recommended by my midwife to hire one for the birth. For me it was a total waste of time and money. Didn't help in the slightest. My bubba was posterior so I was experiencing severe back contractions so any extra sensory on my back just exacerbated the pain....
I used one for my first labour! Was the best thing ever!!! I have no idea why I didn't get one for my second, but oh my gosh I soooooo wished I had have every minute haha!
