    Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

The Drs suspect that I have fibromyalgia and I have been referred to a rheumatologist for testing and final diagnoses...

Background: I hurt my back over 6 mths ago and the Drs don't believe my pain levels equal my injury levels with the pain being greater than it should be. I have several bulging discs, one of which is pushing on my sciatica nerve.

Does anyone have this condition? How do you cope? What pain relief works? What caused you to be diagnosed with this?

Thank you so much in advance - I am petrified that they are going to diagnose this as I have a friend that battles this everyday and nothing works for her...

My MIL has it. She's 73. She takes Nurofen twice a day and sticks to a high protein, low carb diet which seems to help. She also takes magnesium every day.

She saw a naturopath in Adelaide who put her onto the diet and supplements. It's made a huge difference to her pain levels.

I hope you find something to give you some relief.
