    Online Estimators

    Centrelink/Family Assistance Online Estimators

    Online estimators

Here is a link to the online estimators page on the human services website

Use the estimator to check what payments you may be entitled to, compare whether you are better off with paid parental leave or baby bonus etc

Please note – the estimators are not absolute – they are an ESTIMATE only. Many things may change your eligibility from what is listed here. Estimates are only as accurate as the information you provide – so be as accurate as you can be!

Also, please check out how Continuous Adjustment works with both Child Care and FTB payments

When you estimate, there is a question asking if you or your partner are on income support - this is always NO unless you receive newstart/parenting payments etc - if you tick that box when you're not on income support, it will give you very wrong answers

    Thanks for this info bg.

Do CL us the same estimation type system if you call them??
I have on a number of occasions put into the estimaters all the same info that i provide centrelink over the phone and it tells me i'm entitled to xyz. When I call to double check this and possible make the change I get told i'm eligible for nothing.
    Just a curiosity question...

yes, the estimators are exactly the same - we access it through the same website.

we do receive a booklet (which is also available online) for easy reference which summarizes the payment info.

Is it possible when you're ringing to make changes that the person is making the change and continuous adjustment is being placed on the file, reducing you to nothing?

I'm confused I read the continous adjustment stuff but i still don't get it.
Basically, i was considering being a ft sahm, did the estimate online if i stoped at the begining of the new finacial new putting my taxable income in a 0 and hubbys income. it tells me i'm entotled to xyz, ring the fao number they say i'm entitled to nothing. End of story is that i will keep working. All good, was just curious if they use the same calculation.

if you are on zero income, as long as your partner is under 150k, you'll be entitled to FTB B (and possibly some FTBA - depending on DH's income)

perhaps they misinterpretted and thought you were querying income support (like parenting payment) and were saying nothing based on your DH being on too high an income
