Just wondering has anyone been to the dinosaur museum in Canberra? DD is three next month and is absolutely crazy about dinosaurs. We live about 2 1/2 hours from Canberra and i'd like to convince OH to take a trip over there for her birthday.
So, if you have been, what did you think of it? How long did it take you to go through? Not sure if my pitch should be for just a day trip (kind of hard for OH to leave his business atm as it hasnt been very busy lately and he doesn't want to miss out on any money..it's an on call kind of thing, so he can't really book jobs in or put them off until later, its as they come), or if I should try and make it an overnight trip.
We go there all the time.
It's a great little museum because it's child sized - you can get around the whole thing before their attention span wanes lol.
They will offer you a sheet to fill out as you go in - they have to answer questions about what dinosaurs eat and find different dinosaurs etc. My experience is that when you get the sheet they focus on the sheet and answering the questions rather than looking at everything so do one lap then get the sheet and do a second lap.
If you take a few spare dollars you can buy a dinosaur tooth or similar in the gift shop.
If you were going to do an overnighter I would say do the dinosaur museum one day and questacon on the other day.
