Accommodation in or close to Brisbane - kid friendly?

Only 19 days till we come to Queensland! We're mostly staying with a friend, but were looking at having a night or two in Brisbane or close to.

Can anyone recommend me some good family (kid) friendly accommodation - reasonable prices but still nice (nothing fancy).

I think we were looking at staying a night or two away from Mel's around the Monday to give her a break from a fuller-than-normal house. We wanted to check out Southbank too, so I figured we'd stay in Brisbane or close to. If we have time we'll have to catch up again while we're closer your way .
