I have a question in regards to when to get vaccinations done. My son was booked to get his 6wk needles 1 day before he turned 6wks & they refused to give him the vaccination until after he was 6wks. So we rebooked and had them done 2 days later.
This time round, my husband has booked him in for his next round of vaccinations (4mth ones). My question is, he will only be 14wks & 5 days. Will they give them to him or do I have to wait until he's exactly 16wks or 4mths according to the date he was born (he was born 29th March, so would I have to wait until 29th July?)
I will be rather annoyed if I have to wait until he's 16wks or 29th July as that would have been twice they'd have booked him in for his needles without first checking whether he'd be the right age.
TIA
We had the same prob and got caught twice! With us the 6 week ones couldn't be done until 6 weeks and the 4 month ones couldn't be done until after 4 months but after that they are more relaxed so long as it is 'about' right. It don't know what the system is elsewhere but where we live you are just given the next available appointment and the person on the phone is very keen to tell you that they aren't a nurse and can't tell you if the timing etc will be ok (very helpful - not!) so I now ring well in advance and tell them what date I want rather then having one suggested.
