    Vic Nurses EBA back pay

Do any of the nurses or midwives on here know when we're suppose to be getting our backpay? Ta

I think it is supposed to be with the first July pay, so next pay for me. Unfortunately it is only back paid to march I think.

ETA: just found the email from the anf, back pay will commence from the 6th July, and will be paid from the 31st march. Will also include the $1000 continuing education payment (pro rata for part time).

oh and while im complaining....its wonderful that the continuing development pay is pro rata even though part timers are required to do the same CPD hours as fulltimers at the same cost as what full timers pay... grr ...lucky i love nursing lol

Thanks little chicken - I don't remember reading that so thank you!

    I know Delph, helpful huh?

I joked on FB earlier that I got an extra $3 in my pay so it must have been the back pay

You know Delph, it hadn't occurred to me about the professional development allowance and cpd hours! How did they let that happen? But i guess it falls under the same loop hole as part timers don't get as much study leave either.

Nope, not a lot gained, but at least we don't have to do those stupid split shifts that they wanted to bring in.

Thank God we didn't get those stupid split shifts. I wish they would pay us our back pay & education allowance seperately cause I completely agree with Delph and it's all going to go in tax so the friggin government get it back anyways!!!!

So shirty about the whole EBA!!! We got completely screwed over!!!

yeah its great we don't have the split shifts but really the threat to have them in the first place wasn't that strong. to enforce any of it the government would have had to negotiate a new eba with us before bringing it in so we really did a whole heap of something for nothing ITMS.

    sigh..

and now our teachers are going through the same thing :-(

and today the government give themselves a pay rise that equates to most peoples yearly wage....sad.....

Does anyone know if we are getting the education payment in a lump sum or spread out as an allowance spread out over the year?

not sure but do we get a lump sum for 2011-2012 period and then installments for the 2012-2013 period or did i just make that up to justify how im going to pay off that massive layby i did last week

oooo not sure. would be nice to get at least half for 2011/2012 since the EBA was finalized in that financial year... but I doubt it.

We won't actually get much in the bank because when they do all the back payments with our normal pay, we'll lose most of it to Tax!

Wouldn't it be nice if they did a seperate pay. we know they won't but it's always nice to dream.
