urgent - Amoxicillin (antibiotic cover for dental work)

HELP! I don't know what to do?! I am 5 weeks pregnant & have a history of a heart arrhythmia I had an ablation feb 2011. I'm having a tooth out today and I would normally have antibiotic cover (6 amoxicillin tabs 1 hour before appointment) is it safe to take amoxicillin in such a high dose in the first trimester does anyone know?

I don't know, sorry, but maybe you could ask at a chemist, or ring them? They have a book that tells them which class each drug is and whether it's safe for pregnancy/breastfeeding/etc

Definitely call your local chemist and find out or else your GP/heart specialist. Hope all goes well. xoxo

Amoxicillin is safe in pregnancy but I'm
Not sure about that dose. It's essentially two days worth in an hour... Def have a chat with a pharmacist

Don't apologise! I was a wreck with my dental issues. Try and rest if you can and keep up regular pain relief for the next couple of days. I had a tooth out 4 weeks ago

Did they give you gauze? If so, pop it in the cavity and bite down for 10 min. Otherwise a clean hankie or similar will work. Don't rinse your mouth for 24-48 hours and try not to chew near it.

Zee it's completely understandable you were stressed. Better to ask these things.

A piece of cloth, like a hankie, will work better, tissue will break down and get stuck in the hole.
I had a tooth out a couple of months ago, and yep it's horrible. Hope you've feeling a bit better tomorrow.
