A great place for snow play with young kids.

Can anyone reccomend a great place that I can take my girls just for snowplay. We don't want anywhere to big. It is only for a day or two and we are about 2.5 hours away on the sydney side of the mountians.

In NSW Perisher might be your best bet.
They have a toboggan hill and an area beside that is open for playing on. If you pull over on the way up the hill you can play about in the snow by the road without crowds and it is more likely to be less compacted so it will be easier to throw.
There is accommodation at Perisher or cheaper accommodation at Jindabyne and a couple of places on the road up.

If you want to try your hand at skiing Selwyn Snowfield offers the best value for beginners but there isn't much in the way of accomodation.

Thanks Onyx. I had heard Selwyns. Will check that out. Someone also meantions Mcguiggans or something like that. Any ideas?

Maybe it was smiggins they mentioned? It's the beginner slope at perisherblue!
