mine is taking longer than DH's think mine is taking longer as all the centrelink stuff eg CCTR is in my name? So before they refund they need to check I dont owe centrelink money for overpayments etc

I'm guessing it's pot luck who gets theirs done. I submitted mine before DH and he got his refund last thursday and I'm still waiting. Mine is so much simplier than his. I honestly don't think there is a logical system except they just grab the next file.
Hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer.

That's a good point Sararose - could be Centrelink holding mine up too.

Mine was later than DH's as well. Could well be due to Centrelink, as when I checked dates on my Centrelink login, I notice there was a bit of cross over.

Mine is also taking longer than my DH. He received his refund last Friday and no sign of mine yet. However I don't receive any regular centrelink payments. The only thing I've received from Centrelink in this financial year is the Baby Bonus. I assume they are checking for that.

I think it might be the Centrelink thing, i.e. the partner that claims FTA and FTB takes longer to process. (Although I always thought that DH got his refund before mine because his surname begins with "B", whereas mine is with a "K" - so I always thought that they just processed all forms received on any given day alphabetically or something. Doesn't actually make sense, now that I think about it. D'oh.)

it's to do with the "washup" transaction with C'link

ATO tell c'link what your income was, and hold any return until it is confirmed you don't owe any money to FAO (as returns can be used to pay ftb debts) - the same applies to reco payments from c'link - that result is sent to ATO to make sure you don't owe anything there as FTB supplements and top ups can be used to pay tax debts

the whole wash up process usually only takes a week or so - but it can take up to a month

If I've lodged my return but haven't lodged DH's, will this hold up my refund??

We don't get any kind of parenting / family payment from centrelink, only childcare benefit.

I lodged on 2nd July and haven't got my refund yet.

Jaycee, CCB is affected by family income so they won't be able to reconcile it until your DH lodges his. In other words, yes I think it will hold up your refund.

ETA: BG probably knows more than me. Ring the ATO. That's a long time to be waiting.
