    Flights with a 16month old

Hoping for some helpful hints on ways to entertain a 16month old on plane trips?

We are heading to Asia in the next month or so and will be doing 6+ flights, longest being Syd - KL and Sing - Syd, and some shorter ones in between (1hr -3hrs).

Any helpful ideas. He's not walking, and don't think he will be then. (hyper mobility issues) Crawling up and down the aisles probably isn't a safe option

    Thanks in advance!

    Books, music, crayons and paper.
Things to put in and out of containers. Play dough and cutters. Blocks for stacking. Stacking cups. Little dolls and blankets with bits of fabric.
    Hope that helps :-)

Yep... lot's of things for him to do, and get yourself a bassinette seat. Even if you don't use the basinette, there is extra foot room, and, you get a space to put stuff you don't want DS touching! It's like having double the space. We've done about 8 long haul flights with DD1 at that age. Best of luck... keep patient and don't expect to do anything other than look after him the whole flight. I expected quiet time to read a book. I look back on that lofty idea and laugh now .

I guess the fact that i just started filling my kindle with "books for the plane" is probably laugh worthy!!!
i thought that might the case, damn!

Have requested the bassinet seats - need to confirm closer to the date on that one.

Thanks for the tips - starting a list

Lot's of little snacks. We flew to the US with DS when he was 13 months old and thankfully we had night flights for our longest legs so he slept but for other flights and inbetween his sleeps we entertained him with books, cartoons on our ipad and snacks like rice sticks and dry crackers.

Thanks Aussiegirl, iPad is ready to go with entertainment - somehow I think we are going to have to take 2 of them, otherwise DH and DS will be fighting over it!

we flew with a 19 month old in Feb: snacks and entertainment(dvd player and headphones) were the key, plus we had a night flight, so she slept 3 hours.
