    Family Assistance Income statement

I received FTB B for a little bit last year before moving to Melbourne and I realised as I was preparing to my tax stuff together that I haven't received an income statement from FAO yet. Has everyone received theirs? Am I supposed to get one? Can I go into any FA office and get it over the counter?

I just worry that they've all been going to my address in WA.

Roflmao. No, I think the redirection to your house finished after 6 months so if I didn't change addresses with FAO then it would have gone to WA right?

I live in QLD, not sure if it's the same Aus wide, but
When I changed my address with Medicare they sent me to another desk in the same office to change it with FA.
Are you talking about a group certificate? If yes, then you don't get one for family assistance as it's not "taxable income", according to my accountant.

no medicare doesn't link to family assistance - even though they are both under human services portfolio, they are still separate entities

BUT, having said that, ftb isn't considered an income, so you don't have to have a statement to prepare your taxes babe
you will need to update your addy so that you get your statement once reconciliation has occurred - you can do that online if you're registered (you will still get a partial supplement for the period you were on ftbb)

Yeah that's ok, I'm happy to declare the income, I just want to know how much it was, that's all. But thanks BG, if I don't need to wait for it, I won't bother going to FAO to try to get a statement. I'll just make sure that they have my Vic address now though before I lodge my return..

I used to do the online thing but now they redirected me through the dept of human services and I don't know what my logon details are from when I registered 8 months ago, so I gave up.

Ftb does NOT appear on your tax return. AT ALL

Ftb is like a tax return but paid in installments through the year. You do NOT include it anywhere on your return

Other centrlink payments need to appear. Ftb doesn't

True - there is no spot on the Tax Return for Family Tax Benefit.

Anyone who has already submitted a tax return and declared it, should contact the ATO.

Awesome, love it. I think I harked back to my single parent days from 10 years ago and got confused, but I didn't get PP this time at all, so I'm good. Ok, ready to do my tax now! Or as soon as I get my group cert from my old employers, that is, which HOPEFULLY is at Rouge's house...

Sushee, if you are lucky your old employers have already sent off their annual report to the ATO, in which case the info will be there to download with E-tax or your accountant will be able to do the same. If not call them, they must issue a copy if requested. They may even be able to email it to you.

just want to clarify - on the human services home page, you can still log in just to your c'link account - just go to the drop down box on top right corner of the screen, and choose centrelink as the site you wish to log in to

and yes, a lot of employers are electronically sending payment summaries now

It was at Rouge's so all good. They normally make it available to download off their electronic payroll system but as I'm no longer employed there I had to wait for it to come in the mail. But it's here so I'm good to go now.
