Well technically we had the wooly mammoths and the ice age between dinosaurs and humans, so maybe go with something like that and maybe it will distract from the whole where did humans come from question.
We’ve got a few books on evolution and talk about it all the time because our kids are very interested. If you google “Our Family Tree: An Evolution Story” that one is excellent and probably the most age appropriate for your DD at the moment.
We are doing this at the moment too. Evolution. I said people argue if stared as monkey or from fish etc. It started our kids thinking. Some come from fish, monkeys, and spacemen was what i got answered. Maybe more close then i know lol.
Its hard finding non religious stuff that's not complicated
Sorry if it doesn't make sense, the barefoot princess is covering me with kisses
great question! it's a big concept, if only because of the massive time spans. I'd check out the library for some age appropriate evolution books. Best to go with evidence-based information.
It's a great age for soooo many questions!! ;P My DD asks alot about how things work / move - eg: a truck... a bit easier to answer but she can still stump me from time to time!
I guess my answer for the evolution question (we are non-practising Catholic) would be to answer 'some people think XYZ, others think ABC' and answer it from a non-religious and religious POV.
The two sites posted, one by epacris and the other by catherine are a great start! Have fun!
