Ummm, Girly Bits and Nappy Changing?

I have a newborn baby girl, just checking to make sure I am on the right track with nappy changes - It's a whole new world to me from cleaning up around the frank and beans!!

What's the appropriate way to keep her girly bits clean? I've been very gentle etc but geeze that runny poop gets into places I just don't want to visit

    TIA x

    Clean it all out, gently!

When DD2 was born, she was so tiny and under developed... she didn't have anywhere near enough labia to cover her bits (still doesn't) and it was even more distressing cleaning her during nappy changes.

Wipe from front to back. I used to use a warm facewasher to get them clean and found doing it the nappy after was good as I never seemed to get it all.

Congratulations on the arrival of you little girl.

Same with DD, M. It took a while before she was fully developed down there.

Yep, carefully and always wipe front to back and you shouldn't use the same piece of the wipe twice when wiping her vagina (to avoid infection and germs)

Cool, I've just been very carefully cleaning any poo out of the labia if it goes there, and a very gentle flannel wipe when in the bath. I forgot to ask while in hospy

I have to admit, that's one thing about having a boy that I like. A bit easier to clean up poop.... Sometimes. There's alot of creases that the poop hides....
