Anyone else suffer from major bloating? I wake in the morning and my tummy is relatively flat, maybe a little more chubby on my lower tummy and by afternoon my stomach has increased by up to 3 inches!! But it's only the lower half under my belly button that gets bigger generally. It doesn't really matter what I eat I always bloat, If I don't eat, I'm fine. But I love to eat so I have to put up with this insane bloating and giant roll hanging over!
I have always had a little extra weight in the middle section, but this is crazy.
I thought maybe it was PCOS related and I don't think it's celiac disease. I can't think of any other reason for the bloating. I'm tired of having this massive roll of flab that is ruining my outfits
Any ideas what this could be? I have been eating a lot of sweets over the last year (again, sure it's PCOS related), but thought it was a little odd that I have only put weight on in lower my stomach.
If it's just in the afternoon and goes back down overnight it sounds like it's mainly gas.
Have you thought about some probiotics? They might help you digest food without being so gassy.
Eating slowly, light exercise, chewing food thoroughly and avoiding gassy food (ie yeast, cabbage, beans, artificial sweeteners, carbonated drinks) can help. Try google for a proper list of foods that cause bloating.
Try drinking peppermint tea or camomile tea. You can also buy charcoal and other things to reduce gas at the chemist.
You should see your dr re any unexplained bloating. It can be a sign of more serious diseases like ovarian cancer, so it's a good idea to touch base with your doc to rule that ok,
onyx, thanks I will look into that. I do eat a lot of bread stuff, it's easy and quick. But generally I eat pretty good, cereal, salad wrap for lunch or pumpkin soup & a toasted wholemeal roll, meat and vege or chicken and rice for dinner. So pretty average I'd say. (besides the sweets ) I just don't want to have to limit myself for the rest of my life!
Marydean, I have PCOS and suspected it could be related to that. But maybe I will mention it to the GP next time
Nai, I usually wear leggings/tights to avoid tight stuff like jeans. I can't avoid sugars!!! Ok maybe i will try....
