Cloth nappies for a teeny baby (in five zeros)

Hi all, my gorgeous friend had a baby girl at 37 weeks and she's tiny, about 2.3 kg. Anyway all the cloth nappies she has acquired are ginormous. She has just got some BBH premature, but finding these leak.

So any suggestions for cloth nappies for tiny bubs? She is using face washers and a cover at the moment

    Prefolds and a cover?

There are some that make tiny nappies like totsbots teenyfits, kissaluvs NB, happy heiny micro premmie,, bubblebubs make a tiny AI2 I think too.

Thanks Kim. The prefolds I gave her are still huge (she's like a doll...so gorgeous but tiny!). The happy heiny ones look good. Oh yes, bubblebubs! Awesome! Thanks, I'll send her some links.

Cheeky Butts Minis are great for teeny tiny (and quite cheap), as are Lil Joeys Rumparooz. Those are both from premmie size (forget the weight, but DD2 wore them from 2.835 kgs to whatever she was at three mths). They would have fitted DD1 at 2.5 kgs too, had I used MCNs them.

DD2 is wearing 00000/0000 and is too small for HH's. But she has serious chicken legs! Not even sposies fit her properly, we change her clothes every nappy change because she always spills out the legs.

I used Pixie Winks for ages with DD, the prem size.
You just need some covers or snibs to go over top.

I have both the totsbots teenyfits and the kissaluvs newborns for DD3 and they would swim on your friend's bub. My girl was born 3.9kgs and if anything they were a little big for her around the thighs at the start

Gosh, Holly must have been a thunder thighs then lol. Hers were soooo tight and she was only a bit over 3kg.

    Thought of a couple more.

Chiffon Nappies and L'il daks make tinys as well.

I know BumGenius' aren't rated for below 5kgs or something but I had my girls in them from about 1-2 weeks old and DD2 was 2.5kg and had total chicken legs. I do wonder if it was more good luck than anything but she could explode out of a disposable easily but only very rarely had an issues with BGs.

I know you asked about cloth nappies but I thought I'd mention the Huggies premmie nappies. You can't get them in the supermarkets, only through wholesale outlets. DD1 was 2.9kg and a skinny mini! She wore 00000 and premmie clothes for the first four weeks or so, 0000 were too big on her. I bought the Huggies premmie nappies from a place in WA called Nappy Online. They were brilliant and held everything in until she grew big enough to wear the newborn size.

One of my wee girls was 2.4kg at birth and we have used prefolds with covers from day one. She had serious chicken legs and we have had no leaks ever. Hmmm in fact the only time we have had to do an entire change was with a disposable when we were going out . . . go cloth nappies!!!

I used muslin flats with the plastic tie overs that I borrowed permanently from the hospital. DS1 was 1.9 kilos born and 2.02 when I took him home. He was in the muslin flats until he was about 3kgs.

My DD was over 3kg, but still small enough that I would fold her prefolds down. I used Mazalicious covers, which for us were a very good fit around the thighs & have been at all ages. If you aked she might be able to make them smaller too Not sure what her work load is like at the moment, but she's always happy to help where she can
