I've watched the movie and I'm inspired to MASTER THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING

A few weeks ago I was at home from work (sick) with DS2 (also sick). I spent the few days vegging on the couch watching movies. I stumbled across Julie & Julia and fell in love with cooking all over again.

I ordered myself a copy of Julia Childs Master the Art of French Cooking and it arrived (finally) a couple of weeks later.

I cracked open my new cookbook on the weekend and made a start with:
    • Gnocchi de Pommes de Terre
    • Quiche aux Champignons
    • Biscuits a la Cuiller

Using her soup-making methods I also made a delicious chicken soup and a minestrone.

I am just so proud of me for cooking such awesomely delicious food for my family!

I read my book every chance I get (to the point of having fun poked at me) and find endless inspirationin the pages.... I'm developing quite a love affair with butter!

Go you! I love watching old you tube videos of her. She was amazing. Wasn't it her 100th birthday the other day?

    Enjoy your new love.

    Bon Appétit!

    Yum. I love French cuisine.

My favourite French cookbook is The Country Cooking of France. It's written by Ann (maybe Anne?) Willen.

My brother has Mum's copy of Larousse Gastronomique. I keep meaning to get my own. I trawl ebay for second hand copies every now and then. Might go and have a poke about now.
