Anyone know a landscaper type in Outer East Melb who is interested in some work?
We have the 7th tradie coming around today to look at our mud bowl (backyard). We've only had one quote so far and that was way out of our price range. It's only 5x15metres, so not loads of work. We want to replace the mud bowl with decking and paving, or just paving if we can't afford the decking. Ideally we'd have the water tank moved too, but that's not urgent.
It's getting to the point where we think we're going to have to try and do it ourselves. However, there are drainage type pipes that a professional would need to sort out and I dont really want to build a deck when the last time I did anything related to wood was year 7 woodwork class. (I made a tray).
I suppose there's always a Bunning DIY classes, but I would prefer a professional did it.
Also, has anyone used bamboo for decking? We were looking at merbau but the bamboo looks nice too.
Are you looking for a landscaper hun or just a bit of an all round tradie?
I can ask if DP knows anyone out that way, can you PM me a rough area as he might know someone specific.
If you were in Adelaide I'd send my DH round He did a great job on our decking last year. Its merbau, he used a jarrah coloured decking stain on it I have put a couple of pictures in this album. The front deck is oiled in the pics and the back deck isnt. He also made the planter boxes and we ended up having a working bee to lay the lawn and it saved us about $3000, the salesman at the lawn place drew up all the plans for the watering system for him so he could lay it himself (it is an underground dripper system
I dont know about his prices but if you look at his work, you can tell it aint going to be cheap. They are delectable, serene spaces with lots of expensive, beautiful materials. i want but i cannot have
