I have a baby coming to DD's party so I just got her a Rafferty's Garden sachet. I know DD received a rattle in a loot bag when she was a baby.
So here come all the party questions! This is so exciting, I've never planned a kids party before!
I will have guests that have under 2 year olds. I'll have loot bags for the older kids, but what can I give babies? What do other people do?

I did rice mum mums, rusks and a little book for each little tacker
I bought onesies for the babies that came to DD1's first birthday. I got Sprout summer onesies on special at Myer.
Another good idea are mini maracas. You can get super cute ones for babies. Have a look online, a few party supplies places stock them at a reasonable price. The only reason I didn't do that is all the babies who were going to be at DD's party already had a set each.
Must say that BG's loot bags rocked! The bubble wands were the best!
sent from the Hellmouth.
For DS first birthday I got each bub a feeding set - little bowl, baby spoon and fork and a face washer - in the party theme. I figured all mums can do with more of those![]()
we did bib, balloon, bubbles - can't remember what else because it was so long ago!
Ok thanks, some good ideas there.. It needs to be cost effective, I have just worked out that if everyone comes there'll be about 40 kids! half of them under 2.. The older kids are easy, I have seen heaps of things for them..
E's first birthday, the books were from a cheap shop - think they were a dollar each.
This year they had a two dollar bubble wand and done normal loot. It wasn't as suitable for little kids but there weren't as many little kids. I kinda figured mums would eat the stuff that wasn't appropriate for their kidlets...
Bubbles
Balloon
Match box car (reject shop has these)
Book (toys r us have $1 seseme street books)
soft toy
stickers
play doh
Rice crackers
Heinz or wiggles kids fruit bar/museli bar
cup (reject shop has packs of 4 hard plastic licensed cups for $3)
party blowers
whistle
ball
Bubble wands are a good idea, or just bubbles (I've got heaps from the wedding you can have!)
Cheap cars are good too (Riley loves them lol)
Balloons definitely! Cheap and kids love them!
Please not the whistle![]()
Especially for a park party, bubbles are great!
Chocolate always good. Babies love to share it with mummy and daddy![]()
I put :
small rubber duckies (they sell at Woolies near us or cheapie shops)
bubbles are are must lol
The macro Kids muesli bars, fruit bars etc. I brought a few different types.
I did put a packet of smarties in each too.
This year I also did for my 2 yr olds bday bags:
I brought a cheapie colouring book , cut out the pics and pasted them to a brown paper bag. I then spent $5 on a packet of 100 crayons and put a few in each bag.
The paper bag is recyclable, cheap and they can pick the pic they want to colour (scribble on)
Yes, I'll definitely be doing bubblesRubber duckies are a good idea too!
Yas - Just cos you're my bestie, your kids will get 2 whistles... Each.. Y'know, just in case they lose one.. In fact, I'll make sure it has a string so they can wear it around their neck at all times!!![]()
