I wouldn't be totally surprised, although I haven't suffered from this myself. I know a lot of my period symptoms were reduced when I stopped tampons and started using a cup instead, have you considered getting one?
My last few periods I have noticed that I've had really bad headaches. It was only until a few moments ago that I had an "aha" moment.
I regularly change my tampon and haven't noticed a problem before. But the last few months I've been getting headaches with my periods and neither panadol nor iboprufin seems to get rid of them.
Has anyone else had something similar? Could my body have developed a sudden aversion to wearing tampons?

There are a lot of hormonal changes during your period, it could be that your body reacts by a headache. I never used to get them, but since having DD get shocking headaches each time which my GP said can happen after all the pregnancy changes. I'm on the pill so skip that week and only have them now and then. I've also found that by taking preventative pain relief, it doesn't get as bad (ie I know it hits about middle of Day 2, if I have something in the morning (and ongoing) it doesn't get as bad).
I get migraines and they are almost always related to AF and the associated hormonal changes, using the contraceptive pill helped reduce the incidence significantly although I no longer use it due to other side effects. Have you tried asprin for your headache? I find or my migraines the best thing is aspirin over panadiene forte, ibuprofen, paracetamol. Keeping up fluids also helps
No idea abou the tampons sorry
Google Mooncup hun! They are a menstrual cup you insert and then wash out. Maybe next period you could try just using pads instead and see if there is any difference? If so then you will know it is or isn't linked to the tampons xoxox
menstrual cups are the greatest thing, google them or sometimes an advert for mooncups is on the banner at the top of the page so keep an eye out for it
Oooh! Googled it... why have I not heard of these before?! I am so ordering one right now.
For those of you who use them - how many do you have? Are they tricky to use?
I have one, they are a little tricky at first but you get used to them. There might be a thread somewhere let me hunt it out for you.
Wow. I can't believe I've been missing out on this. Thanks ladies - I'll have a look at that thread....
