    Give me anniversary ideas!

I'm leaving it super late here, given our anniversary is in a couple of weeks, but I'm stuck trying to think of what to do for it. Pleeeeease help!

I'm thinking stay in a cheapish motel near something interesting (that's how stuck I am, I can't even tell you what kind of interesting I want to do!) the night before, go to the interesting thing on our actual anniversary, have dinner, stay another night in cheapish motel, go home the next day. I'm not keen on doing anything city-based, but I'm open to ideas if there's anything appealing going on. Our last two anniversaries and "honeymoon" have been in the city, I'd like to break free of the rut. By city I mean Melbourne, for those who don't know where I am

We're on a pretty tight budget, so cheap and/or free ideas would be very much appreciated. Ideas have to be toddler-friendly too, or at least let me wear Amelia on my back.

If there's any way we can work leather into it, I'd love you forever. Apparently the third anniversary is Leather

Flag the whole going away idea, and have Amelia watched for the day, and take yourself down to the Peninsula Hot Springs, a nice dinner and then home again.

We did what LS said! Brunch at a place in Dromana, then massages each then hot springs! Was the perfect relaxing day!!!! We sleep better in our own beds so had kids watched night before so we could sleep in!

    Something like this sounds awesome.

That sounds like a great idea.

It is our wedding anniversary next Sat. My parents are minding DD for the night and we are going to go out for dinner and then come home and chill out. DH has already said that during the day on Sat, I should take some time to have some pampering his shout, so I might go and get my hair styled for the night and a manicure & pedicure. Have no idea what I am going to wear though!

Maybe for leather, you could get DH a leather bound photo album of all the special moments in your life or I have seen beautiful leather passport holders (that arent overly expensive) and you could make up a passport to your lives inside it with all the memories you have.

For our 3rd my DH bought me the Terminator DVD. He reckoned Arnie wearing leather pants and jacket covered the leather requirement

Don't know what you are into so this may be a totally stupid idea but when I read leather I immediately thought of a saddle and horseriding. As you are north of the city why not head out to woodend or kyneton. You could have a lovely lunch and perhaps find somewhere to do a leisurely horseride.

I would still go with a hotel room. Both DH & I find we relax better without the distractions of home (computer, cleaning, washing etc).

What is the max time you are willing to drive in one direction? That should help narrow your zone.

Ohhh, I would LOVE to go horse riding!

We've talked it over a bit, and it turns out DH's boss can loan us his holiday home on Phillip Island. Given it would save us quite a bit not staying in a hotel, that's looking like the most likely destination. Haven't been in years My Pa grew up there, in a home/boarding school kind of thing.
