    Insulin Resistance and Pregnancy

Does anyone know what IR does in the early stages of pregnancy, WRT BSLs? As in, would pregnancy cause frequent low BSL?

It doesn't impact. Other than increases your chances of GD. I never had any problems with either pregnancy.

I'm always happy to be stalked It was just something that occurred to me today, my BSLs have been under control until the last couple of weeks, but now I'm regularly going low. Food type/ quantities don't seem to affect it. At first I thought I was getting sick, but it's been a couple weeks and nothing....except nausea So, just getting thoughts before getting excited

not too sure but i was on metformin for IR prior to falling pregnant with both DD's. and i kept taking it up until i was 14 weeks.

i wasn't testing bsl's so not sure what my levels would've been. i did go on to have insulin dependant gd with DD1 and although my tests for DD2 said i didn't have gd i think i did as i was monitoring my bsl's throughout her pregnancy and averaged 8-10mmo/L readings for after food and 6-7mmo for fasting.
