    Any quick tips?

Ok. First thing I'll say, is I am not expecting any success here at the moment. DD is only 19.5 months and I haven't really seen any signs of TT readiness. Now, our situation:

DD is currently on antibiotics for an ear infection and as a result has developed really bad nappy rash. It was suggested to me to let her go nappy free for a while whilst it dries up. I figure I may as well make the potty available to her at this time to reduce mess and I never know, whilst unlikely, she might get it.

I figure I'll try sitting her on there fairly regularly (I really don't want much mess on the floor if I can avoid it). Apart from that, is there any other things I can try?

one thing I have heard lots of people do is to put their childs favourite show or movie on, sit them on the potty and let them watch the show. But it never worked for me, mainly cause my kids wont stop to watch anything.

Hehe, I tried that too Beansbeans but same problem. I use books to read, even then it does not last long either. I would try sitting her on it a fair bit and singing songs or reading. If she is not ready then there is not to much you can try. Goodluck. I hope the rash clears up quickly and you don't have much mess to clean.

I found our kids went pee about ever 36 mins so I could take them to the loo and make a Sssssss noise to help them pee, after awhile they recognise the noise and it really helps.
Once you work out her "tiiming" it gets easier
I have also used pads inside nickers, seems to be less harsh then nappys

I tried all sorts with DS, including all the tips and tricks mentioned above (he did have a few hours of TV at a time to encourage him, all that did was give him a potty-shaped mark around his bottom). He would hold it for hours at a time then beg me for a nappy so he could wee. He knew exactly what was going on and what to do - and where he wanted to do it.

I also let him run around outside without a nappy on quite a bit. I also found that cloth nappies caused no nappy rash but the disposables that nursery used did - so I got nursery to cloth him up when he had a rash.

TFB - I think the nappies at childcare have definitely made the problem worse. We went a while without the nappy this afternoon and then tried the nappy again (we had to go out) and she didn't seem to mind. I'll give her a bit of time again tomorrow and hope that helps the rash clear up. We had a couple of puddles to clean up. Like I thought, she's definitely not ready for TT - at least we know for sure!
