its DS1 2nd birthday in a week and i was so caught up in all the hype of organising a fun day for him that it wasnt until i changed the calendar over yesterday that i remembered its DH and my 1st wedding anniversary just 5 days after DS1s birthday, so the traditional present is paper if i remember correctly? so whats a clever present i can get him that is made of paper?
DH likes history and geography, so I got him recycled stationary made from old maps of the Middle East and Greece as well as old stamps from those areas. He loves them He had a recipe book made for me which he helped design with one of our favourite quotes in the front. Paper is a really good one I found.
I tried to find something 'papery' but couldn't.
It was our 1st anniversary 2 weeks ago. I got DH a teddy bear that said "I love you Beary Much". Freakin hilarious.
It also sings.
I have no memory what I got DH for our first anniversary (or most of the others). We often just buy something expensive and agree it will be our joint present.
DH and I were both a little poor around our anniversary and decided we would much prefer a special night out then spend a lot on presents. Anyway as it turned out we both bought each other powerball and lotto tickets and put them in each others anniversary cards. Ironic that we thought the same way!
Other ideas if you have a bit of money lying around for gifts are plane tickets or concert tickets (paper) to something or somewhere.
because traditional was paper and modern is a clock. I sketched a drawing for him of a clock (on paper), it has our wedding date on it, and set to 8.59pm because we got married under a full moon and the ceremony was due to start at 9pm. it had been raining and overcast all day, and at 8.59 the moon managed to break through the clouds just in time for our ceremony.
I enlarged a wedding photo and had it framed. As it was photo paper I figured it was still traditional. Could do this or a photo shoot together and blow up a 1 year on photo
we got a massive electricity bill a few days before so didnt have enough money to buy him a present so i just got him a card a bag of his favourite chocolate and a menu of the place i wanted to take him to dinner
