    Losec causes wind?

DD has recently started full-on teething and her reflux seems to have gotten worse as a result. So we upped her Losec medication and now she's getting really painful wind. Between the 3 of them, she is in constant pain and hardly getting any sleep... Day or night have you found Losec to be a huge wind causer?

When I used it when she was younger it seemed to make her worse. Haven't tried since though & she's 7.5 mo now. Maybe it'll help?

I downgraded her dose and the wind has gotten worse, so I don't think it's the Losec What else would cause it? It's giving her and me very little sleep.

Have you tried infants friend again?

Perhaps a chat with MHCN might be needed, from your recent posts you sound like you are having a really tough time lately.

They may be able to help you with some gentle settling techniques, and have some other ideas about whats causing pain, if it is pain?

It's wind pain. She's arching and writhing and crying with it. Then she finally does a big fart and is all happy again.

Yes but I haven't changed my diet at all and this has just come on suddenly in the last week or so.

Could it be part of a Wonder week?

At about 37 (or between 36 and 40) weeks, you may notice your baby attempting to do new things. At this age, a baby's explorations can often seem very methodical. For example, you may notice your little tyke picking up specks from the floor and examining them studiously between his thumb and forefinger.

Or a budding little chef may rearrange the food on his plate by testing the way a banana squashes or spinach squishes through tiny fingers. He will assume the most serious, absorbed expression while carrying out these investigations. In fact, that is just what they are—investigations that will help the little researcher begin to categorize his world.

Your baby is now able to recognize that certain objects, sensations, animals, and people belong together in groups or categories. For example, a banana looks, feels, and tastes different than spinach, but they are both food. These are important distinctions and similarities to sort out. The leap into the world of categories will affect every sense—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

Maybe, but does it say anything about farting... Eventually? Lol It starts around 4am when she's asleep and wakes her up, so I don't think it's a WW.

All sorts of things. It's very difficult to know how much she's getting down though.

May just be her system adjusting. Perhaps some probiotics would help her tummy

When Honor had a bad cold I used Ethical Nutrients Inner Health Plus for Kids which can be used from a young age.

I always wonder when my DD does the big irritable cry, arch, wriggle then big fart if it's the other way around with the crying etc. causing the fart by straining her tummy and pushing a whole lot of gas out in one go that would otherwise have come out gradually and less noticeably. Just my theory anyway. People talk about the legs up, arched back = wind pain as if it's gospel but we're all really just guessing what babies are feeling.

Unfortunately that doesn't help much in terms of solutions. I end up trying all the regular settling techniques (cuddles, wearing, massage, feeding etc) and my DD eventually calms down and sleeps. Some days I think the settling techniques do as much to help me as her by giving me things to do.
