Inflatable canoe/kayak - any advice?

I would love to have a canoe or kayak (especially with camping season coming up), but there is no way we could transport it with our little car. So I was wondering about inflatable canoes and kayaks - are they worth it or are they too fragile? Does anyone know of a good brand they could recommend? Would getting one be a waste of money? TIA!

My husband bought one from Target - it's a Coleman sub brand for $300 down from $599 - it's a really good quality, nice and ruggered. Takes five minutes to blow up with a hand pump, and looks great. Well recommended!!
