    Question Lump in neck

I've noticed my neck has been really hurting the last couple of days, i've got the flu so just put it down to normal aches and pains. I was laying down and started rubbing my neck and i felt a lump.

Its under my right ear, kind of near where the jaw connects i suppose is the best description. It feels like a mass and is quite big.

Any ideas on what it could be? Trying not to freak out and run to the doctors.

My guess would be a swollen gland, normal when you have the flu!

Get it checked out. I know a few cases of mumps that has been developing with signs that start off like a cold.

I have quite a few symptoms of it. Particularly painful chewing and swallowing, i haven't been able to eat properly for almost a week now.... Hmm a trip to the doctors may be in order tomorrow.

Swollen gland possibly? It's highly likely considering you've had the flu.

Best thing to do if you're concerned is a trip to your GP. :-)
